Hog Cay

22°14'57.16'' N 75°45'5.74'' W

Great time hanging out with MV Life of Chill. Lots of snorkeling, hunting, hiking and beach combing

Raccoon Cay

22°21'45.32'' N 75°48'57.51'' W

Nice quiet anchorage all to ourselves. Chuck shot a hog fish and I got to swim with a big loggerhead turtle

Castle Island

22°7'38.04'' N 74°18'55.06'' W

Castle Island

22°7'34.79'' N 74°19'52.13'' W

Anchored on the west side in calm weather. Snorkled the wreck and landed the dinghy on the beach but it was challenging with the crashing waves. Beautiful night sky. Woke up the next morning with big swells and breaking waves out of the NW, which made it very uncomfortable and even dangerous with no wind to keep us off the beach. Moved around to the south facing bay

South West Point

22°10'55.64'' N 74°17'5.25'' W

Loved this anchorage in east wind. Three miles of beach and so many interesting shells to collect. Not much coral to snorkel but we did find some.

Sugar Bay

22°14'4.71'' N 74°15'32.77'' W

Acklins

22°19'47.82'' N 74°9'16.49'' W

Delectable Bay - 1

22°26'45.99'' N 74°0'16.33'' W

Nice anchorage but not much to do. We entertained ourselves at the nearby government dock as the mailboat arrived. Lots of activity and people to watch. Rented a car from Gregory

242-426-7849 and did a tour of the island with friends from SV Onward

French Wells Point

22°41'0.05'' N 74°16'18.14'' W

Great anchorage. The very shallow Bight of Aklins really can’t develop much fetch so it’s calm in light to moderate wind from any direction

Landrail Point

22°49'1.15'' N 74°20'38.99'' W

Went into town. Easy to land dinghy. Grocery store was pretty good. Had lunch at Gibbson’s and met Willamena who was so nice.

NW Crooked Island

22°50'23.13'' N 74°21'6.38'' W

We had a couple calm sea days so went up to the NW point of Crooked Island to snorkel/hunt in the reefs. Extremely clear water, interesting coral structures, lots of fish but no lobsters to be found. We also explored Bird Rock lighthouse which was very difficult to land our dinghy but super cool once we were on shore

Albert Town

22°34'50.26'' N 74°19'38.04'' W

We met Nathanial, one of only 5 residents on Long Cay

Nuevista Rocks

23°9'21.68'' N 75°22'40.88'' W

Convenient stop for the night but very rough. Really no protection from the “rock”

Red Shanks - 1

23°29'4.58'' N 75°44'12.49'' W

Very protected mooring field. Will definitely use again

Sand Dollar Beach

23°30'41.90'' N 75°44'35.97'' W
